Classroom instruction is offered concurrently with clinical experience. The curriculum has been organized under the standards mandated by the State of California Board of Registered Nursing. The program requires successful completion of 72 units of General Education, BRN required content, and program prerequisite courses to receive the Associate Degree in Nursing refer to Course Sequence Form. The program outcomes prepare the students to meet competencies required for entry level into nursing practice by maintaining quality and consistency of instruction.

The course content will focus on competencies expected of the graduate ADN, critical thinking skills, review of medical-surgical nursing concepts, role change, research skills, teaching-learning principles, development of the nursing teaching role, pharmacology principles, and medication calculation to prepare the student for success in an ADN program. Emphasis will be upon the role of the registered nurse caring for clients with acute and chronic problems.

The Nursing program is limited in the number of students it can admit each year. Applicants are cautioned that satisfaction of the prerequisite requirements qualifies them only for consideration for admission to the program.
