Justice -- or as cops are called in trucker parlance, Smokey. In the movie, Bandit and the Snowman are tasked with driving a truckload of contraband beer from Texarkana to Atlanta; along the way, they run afoul of Smokey, who becomes obsessed with stopping them. Smokey and the Bandit. The story itself was comical but, like with all movie productions, there was more than met the eye. Although the Snowman is behind the wheel of the big rig in the movie, while the Bandit drove a fast and furious Trans Am, Bandit was also a truck driver by trade.
In the summer of a movie hit the multiplexes, twin cinemas, and dwindling drive-ins of America like a storm, making over a hundred million dollars in dollars at that! The film I am talking about, of course, is Smokey and the Bandit. Both feature extended, masterfully executed chase scenes. Both glamorize truckers. Sign in. Buford T. Soon as I get home, first thing I'm gonna do is punch yo mamma in da mouth! Justice : Give me a diablo sandwich, a Dr. Pepper, and make it quick, I'm in a god-damn hurry. Sheriff Branford : The fact that you are a sheriff is not germane to the situation.
Sheriff Buford T. Buford T. Justice is an archetypal approaching cliche southern sheriff. While he can be charming and professional, his pursuit of the Bandit is a deeply personal affair compounded by the fact the Bandit absconded with his son Junior's fiancee , embarrassing the Justice family as a whole. Justice tends to take his hunt for the Bandit to the extremes and quite often this leads to the wrecking of his squad cars. He nonetheless remains behind the wheel of the wrecked cars and refers to them as "evidence. Sheriff Justice is chivalrous towards women and the elderly, yet he has no problem casually roughing up suspects especially "young punks" to make a point.
Buford T. Justice
Sheriff Buford T. He was played by Jackie Gleason in all three films. He is a Texas county sheriff.
