Due to the popularity of trial storage racks at Calf Pasture Beach, the Norwalk Recreation and Parks Department has built additional units for kayaks and paddle boards. The units were built entirely in-house by Recreation and Parks staff. The first two were made in May on a trial basis, and the slots filled up almost immediately. As a result, Recreation and Parks built three more over the last two weeks. In addition, objects from the Norwalk Historical Society and the City of Norwalk collections have been installed in both the house and the barn.

He also emphasized that paper passes are still going to exist, however residents will no longer need them to go to the beach. The second time it happens, there is going to be a ticket. Non-residents will be required to either use the park mobile app or call the number posted at the sites to pay for parking, either via the app or over the phone with a credit or debit card. Hughes said the department has been discussing the idea since July, however they did not make it public until all the wrinkles were ironed out.
