Mountain Monsters was a hit show for Destination America for three seasons. The gang is back featuring Trapper, Buck, Huckleberry, Jeff, Willy and Wild Bill as they roam the wooded areas of Appalachia in search of mythical creatures and legends of yore. In the two-hour season premiere, the series picks up right where it left off — with team members Trapper, Buck, Huckleberry, Jeff, Willy and Wild Bill entangled in the backwoods of the Dark Forest. Later in the episode, the clock fast-forwards 18 months to when the group reunites, visibly shaken, but still determined to finish their initial quest. The additional nine one-hour episodes of the season, airing on Wednesdays at 9 p. Each monster is more treacherous than the last, and the team members must rely on their trust in one another, expert knowledge of the terrain and the bond of their brotherhood to sustain the hunt.
Typically, the network deals with things that are paranormal and in some cases, they venture into the world of cryptozoology. Mountain Monsters is a show that kind of combines both of these things into a single series, and people that have seen it either love it or hate it. It really is no middle ground with this show, to say the least. The show features the AIMS team and typically, you see them going out into the backwoods of the Appalachian Mountains looking for bigfoot or other storied cryptids that people have reported seeing. For many seasons, that was essentially the basis for each show. Every week, they would go out looking for something different and it was always something that had previously been rumored to exist, but never proven.
