WILL I STAY IN DALLAS?

full    watch how i met your mother season 5 episode 10

We are coming to Texas for our summer vacation in July and will be staying in Dallas for four days. We will be looking to do the usual tourist stuff Kennedy, Reunion tower etc and a ballgame at the Rangers. What would be a good area to look to base ourselves, we ideally would like somewhere where there are bars and restaurants so that we could walk out in the evenings without having to take the car. How easy is it to get around downtown, is there decent local transport or would we have to take the car everywhere. We realise we would probably need to drive out to Arlington for the baseball but apart from that we would probably just park the car if we could.

Hi, I am spending 4 days in Dallas in July and would like to know if it is best to stay downtown or if there is another area that is easy to get to the sites JFK history, museums,.. When someone asks about staying in Dallas without a car , I generally recommend looking at downtown. There is a wide range of price points, you are close to many of the popular sites and access to mass transit is easy. Here is a link to a thread that recently addressed this topic:. I found some info about high volume shopping areas on the DART light rail line that surely would have hotels nearby???? I will put the Fairmont out there as a hotel recommendation because it sort of straddles the line between downtown and Uptown with easy access to the free McKinney Avenue Trolley and DART light rail.

In addition to an abundance of great shopping, there is a booming wellness industry , a flourishing live music scene, and top-tier culinary options. One is located in pedestrian-friendly Knox-Henderson and the other in the vibrant Bishop Arts District. Another location is slated for Northpark Center in the coming months. In addition to carrying an extensive collection of signature refined-retro frames, the square-foot shop features a lab where customers can have lenses custom framed and tinted, a coffee shop, and a colorful light display inspired by artist James Turrell. From that seed sprouted Shinsei, one of the most popular Asian restaurants in Dallas to date. This inviting spot on Lovers Lane serves traditional Japanese dishes such as miso cod and sushi, as well as fusion-y offerings like chili and herb tempura fish with rice noodles, Thai brussels sprouts salad with yuzu vinaigrette, and grilled oysters with Korean chili butter. Town Hearth Town Hearth, the latest venture by local restaurateur Nick Badovinus see Neighborhood Services, below , is spread out over 6, square feet and is nevertheless one of the hardest reservations in town to come by.

Several of the top tourist attractions in Dallas are located within the relatively compact downtown area, making this an ideal place to stay if sightseeing is your main focus. On the northern edge of downtown, the Victory Park neighborhood leads into uptown , both of which are lovely areas to stay while still within walking distance of many tourist sites. Beyond here, North Dallas and Turtle Creek have accommodation options for those who want to stay outside the city center while remaining close enough for sightseeing via car or public transportation. The Market Center area sits just north of downtown and is best known for its many large hospitals, most notably the Parkland Medical Center. This is a good area to find dependable yet affordable hotels. In the heart of downtown, between Pioneer Plaza and Reunion Tower, the Omni Dallas Hotel has large rooms and suites that will meet even the most discerning expectations. Common areas are modern and elegant and feature upscale touches, like fireplaces and live music in the lobby on weekends.

  1. Dallas is officially the third most populous city in Texas, although its metropolitan area, which includes Fort Worth and other cities, makes it the most populated urban area in the state and the fourth overall in the United States.
