Forum:What did the Menoa Tree take?
Eragon did in fact visit the Menoa tree again in Inheritance to ask what she wanted from him, but again the only answer he got was "Go." Source.what what season episode
I was rereading Brisingr again , and when I returned to the chapter where Saphira so blatantly tries to set the tree on fire, and after the ensuing conversation, Eragon felt a tug in his gut before the tree disengaged. I'm not sure how that might affect the storyline, but it would be a plot twist a rather large one, too. I was just wondering if anyone else had that idea, or others as to what the Menoa Tree had taken. As when Eragon was speaking with the tree he mentioned that she was the last female dragon, and there wouldn't be much worth more than the fertility of the last female dragon. I like the idea that the Menoa Tree took her fertility, that makes a lot of sense. Another idea I've seen floating around cannot remember from whom, otherwise I would credit them is that the Menoa Tree took Eragon's connection to the land. This would make sense as to why his attitude about leaving Alagaesia was less heartbroken than a lot of people thought it ought to have been.

She is a wonderful and fascinating person, full of wit and wisdom, and a good sport about having a character named after her. Now do you really think she would reveal something like that to me, the author?
